SOCIAL CHARTER
A Social Charter for the 21st Century
The Order
of St.
Thomas
of Acre advocates:
World Population
needs to be kept
to a sustainable
level.
Rejection of
the
concept of perpetual
growth
as a
means
of increasing
corporate profit
in a world which
is quite
finite.
The
control
and scrutiny
of foreign
ownership
by National
governments.
Rejection of the
censorship
of
a diverse range
of opinions
by the
mainstream
media.
Maintenance
or improvement of the
standard
of living
for
those
living
in
Christendom.
Curbing
corporate
greed
and
rejecting
grossly excessive
remuneration
to
chief
executives.
Balanced
and
authentic
developmental opportunities
for our
youth.
Encourage
traditional
trades and
craftsmanship
and
educational
opportunities
to
learn these skills.
Better control
and censorship
to excessive
violence
by way of computer/video
games and violent
movies
that our youth are
being
exposed
to.
Encouragement
of Philanthropy by the
rich.
Encouragement
of return
to
Christian
values and
an
acceptance and pride
in the
Christian roots of our
culture.
Whilst the Order celebrates our cultural diversity, we believe
government policies should be directed towards encouraging new migrants
to accept and embrace our value system and encourage the assimilation of
new migrants into our culture.
